The contract will be subject for approval by the Regie de l’energie and the project will need to obtain all the authorizations and permits required by public authorities prior to construction.

An environmental impact study for the wind power project is currently underway.

Boralex president and CEO Patrick Lemaire said the signing of the agreement with Hydro-Quebec distribution is an important stage in establishing Temiscouata wind farm and the project will be Boralex’s first in this region, which has been an enthusiastic supporter of wind power for years.

The farm will begin operation in late 2014 and is part of the 250 MW of community wind power which is planned by the government.
