The contract is on engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) basis. Bladt will undertake the steel construction work at the top side of the substation.
Bladt will also carry out the entire EPCI work, while Semco’s will be responsible for design, onshore construction and offshore commissioning of electrical and other technical systems.
ISC Consulting Engineers is undertaking the structural design work of the Bligh Bank II project, which will be located in the North Sea, 45km off the coast of Zeebrugge, Belgium.
The substation will convert the 33kV voltage delivered by the 50 wind turbines into 220kV voltage.
The electricity will be transported ashore through an existing sea cable shared with neighbour North Wind facility, to which the Bladt and Semco delivered a substation in 2014.
The first phase of the Bligh Bank II project has already been started and the substation is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Semco Maritime chief executive Steen Brødbæk said: "We are seeing significant growth in the wind power segment these years, and the wind power business plays an increasingly important role for us."
Bladt and Semco have earlier worked together on platforms for the Borkum Riffgrund 1 and Nordsee Ost wind farms.
The companies are currently working on design and construction of substations for Sandbank and Nordsee 1 wind farms.
