Diversified metals and energy exploration firm Black Hawk Exploration has acquired an additional 425 acres of oil and gas lease in Cowley County, Kansas.

The company said it plans to proceed with an Intent to Wash Down the Sellers 1(B) well and has submitted permit applications for a Notice of Intent to Drill with the Oil and Gas Conservation Division of Kansas Corporation Commission.

According to Black Hawk, a slick water frac is scheduled and a decision regarding a horizontal drilling program is expected to be made within the next two weeks.

Val Energy has been contracted to provide a drilling rig for the operation and Black Hawk has filed for a projected total depth of 3600ft.
