The ASTM D5511 test was run on polypropylene, PVC, PE and EVA, the most common plastics currently in use, at an independent lab.
Already, the material has been revealed to be safe for food and drug packaging, and meets the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. Thus plastic made with the addition of EcoPure makes green products. The EcoPure allows microbes to digest the carbon inside the complex plastic chain (known as a polymer).
This has two benefits. First, the plastic breaks down into simple organic compounds so that it ceases to be a burden on future generations as regular plastic is. It also creates methane which can be captured from the landfill and used for energy production. Thus, EcoPure results in an easy, sustainable solution for our environment.
