The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Marib Power Project (Phase II) was placed by the Public Electricity Corporation (PEC) under the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Yemen.

The power project is financed by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Saudi Fund for Development, and the Government of Yemen.

BHEL said that Yemen plans to add another 3,000MW of installed capacity within the next five years, and it will bring an opportunity for the utility to further expand its operations in this country.
