The 63-hectare solar park, which is claimed to be the third largest solar park in the region, will have 160,000 solar panels and will produce sufficient energy to meet the requirements of 11,000 Danish households.
The new facility will enhance the usage of solar energy in Denmark.
The solar park, which consists of four solar facilities, will be connected to the electricity grid and the construction phase will be completed by November or December 2017.
The Danish Green Investment Fund has a mandate to offer funding to green transition projects as they can be realized faster.
Better Energy co-founder and managing partner Rasmus Kjær said: “In Better Energy, we have a fully integrated value chain in the development and construction of solar parks, which brings significant synergies and economies of scale. It not only strengthens our competitiveness but also enhances our ability to drive down the price of solar power.
"If we then combine this with mortgage credit financing for the plants, we have a huge potential for both cheap and green energy in Denmark.”
In July, Prysmian Denmark had secured a contract to supply cables to Better Energy for the 8.5MW PV park Horslunde on the island of Lolland in Denmark.
Under the two year contract, Prysmian will deliver a range of cables, mainly UV resistant cables for PV systems.
