Following an announcement by BC Hydro that it is to sell some of its operations, unionised groups have warned the BC government it is starting on the road to privatisation of the provincially owned corporation.
The request for expressions of interest (REFI) come as BC Hydro goes through the provincial government’s core review process, an examination of all government programs and business, started after the new government came to power.
Deadline for responding to the RFEI is 14 November 2001, with BC Hydro committing to evaluate the proposals and come up with recommendations for next steps by the end of the year.
