Tasmanian utility Aurora has developed a new purpose-built Southern Operations Centre at Cambridge that will provide greater business efficiency through improved utilization of resources and greater flexibility.

The A$15 million facility features an administration building and stores building, as well as a number of support workshops and an oil treatment facility.

Peter Davis, CEO of Aurora Energy, said: The opening of the new centre was a milestone for Aurora, with the transfer of about 200 Network Services field operations employees from out-dated facilities at Moonah to the modern complex on a ‘green-fields’ site at Cambridge. The decision to develop these facilities was taken after a detailed internal review of our future accommodation needs and options, and approved only after long and careful consideration by the Aurora board.
