The company gained control of the gold project as part of its acquisition of 51% holding in Western Metals with an option to increase to 80%.

Weerianna is said to host an inferred mineral resource of 1 million ton at 2.2g/t Au for 70,000oz. of gold using a 1g/t Au cut-off grade.

Artemis Resources said in a statement, "The acquisition of Weerianna is part of an ongoing process of aggregating tenements in the West Pilbara area that are geographically proximate and geologically contiguous with the potential of hosting a volume of resource which is economically viable."

The company’s gold inventory in the West Pilbara will now increase to more than 100,000oz Au.

Artemis Resources plans to spend up to $400,000 in exploration for the West Pilbara, including the Weerianna and Carlow Castle projects by the end of the current calendar year.
