Aries Waaree Solar (AWSPL) has bagged an order to provide engineering services for a 40MW solar photovoltaic power plant in the Indian state of Gujarat.
India-based utility Adani Power is developing the solar facility and has already signed a power purchase agreement with the state government for the energy to be generated at the plant.
The power plant is expected to commence operations by the end of next year.
With this solar plant, Adani Power, which is engaged in developing coal-based power projects, forays into the renewable energy sector.
Adani Power CEO Ravi Sharma said that the company may extend the solar project capacity further depending on the experience from the first project.
AWSPL provides engineering, construction and supervision services for renewable power plants in India.
