The new 765kV EHV substation is expected to improve power transfer capacity from eastern Uttar Pradesh to the western part of the state. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2011. The Anpara D thermal power plant has an installed capacity of 1630MW.
Michel Augonnet, executive vice president of Areva T&D’s systems business, said: “The extra high voltage segment is poised for rapid growth and our strong partnership with Indian state utilities puts Areva T&D in a powerful position to capitalize on the emerging opportunities.”
Last month, Areva T&D in India bagged an electrical balance of plant (eBOP) contract from L&T Power for state utility Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company (MPPGCL).
