Under the contract, Amec Foster Wheeler design and build three 132kV overhead lines extending more than 52km through Ayrshire.
The company will also upgrade an existing overhead line between Kilmarnock and Coylton in Ayrshire. Work under the four contracts is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2016.
The new lines will facilitate electricity distribution from Scotland to England and Wales, supporting the renewable energy objectives of the UK Government.
SP Energy Networks, which is part of the ScottishPower Group of companies, provides energy on behalf of supply firms to about 5.2 million customers across Great Britain via a network of cables and power lines it owns and maintains.
It takes electricity generated from power stations, wind farms and several other utilities and transports it through its transmission network.
In the past four years, Amec Foster Wheeler delivered eight similar projects for Scottish Power, and signed 20 substation contracts with SP Energy Networks.
