Alstom has received a contract valued at €100m from GVK Power and Infrastructure to supply turbines for the 850MW Ratle hydropower plant in Jammu & Kashmir, India.

The scope of the contract includes supply of four 205MW Francis turbines, and a 30MW Francis turbine to the project, being built on river Chenab near Drabshala village in Kishtwar district; Alstom will manufacture those turbines at its facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Alstom India managing director and vice chairman Patrick Ledermann said that the contract is a testimony of its long-term relationship of over 15 years with GVK.
