In a contract valued at over US$15M, Alstom has been awarded a turnkey order by Unión Fenosa Generadora La Joya of Costa Rica, to supply the complete electromechanical equipment for the 50MW La Joya hydro power plant.
Under the terms of the contract, alstom will provide the design, engineering and supply of three 17MW vertical Francis turbines, generators, balance of plant, the ALSPA P320 control system, 138kV substation, as well as erection and commissioning.
The main equipment will be manufactured in the company’s facilities in Spain. The plant is scheduled to enter commercial operation in August 2005.
