French engineering group Alstom has won a contract worth approximately EUR320m from Keppel Merlimau Cogen (KMC) to build a new 800MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant in Singapore.

The company will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the power project and the order also includes an 18-year maintenance contract.

Alstom will supply equipments including one GT26 gas turbine, one steam turbine and one heat recovery steam generator for the plant.

The company also built KMC’s existing 500MW combined-cycle power plant in 2007, on which it is currently carrying out an 18-year operation and maintenance contract.

KMC is a unit of Keppel Energy, the energy division of Singapore-based Keppel Corporation.
