Airbiquity, a provider of connected vehicle solutions, has revealed its cooperation with Shell to act as the solution integrator for the telematics element of Shell’s new fuel management system for commercial transport fleet operators, called Shell FuelSave Partner.

Airbiquity worked with Shell to develop and test components of Shell FuelSave Partner. The new fuel management system, which automatically links customers’ Shell fuel cards with technology installed in the vehicle and a central database, can help customers save up to 10% on fuel and better manage their fuel-related CO2 emissions, the company said.

The company added that the fuel management systems can automatically calculate fuel-related CO2 emissions on a per tonne-km basis. Airbiquity’s pan-European infrastructure will support Shell FuelSave Partner as the company deploys in multiple European markets throughout 2010.

Kamyar Moinzadeh, CEO and president of Airbiquity, said: “Reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions while also improving efficiencies is paramount for all companies. Being selected to support Shell in achieving this is especially rewarding for Airbiquity.”

As the telematics solution integrator for Shell FuelSave Partner, Airbiquity will manage key components of the telematics service including installation and wireless provisioning.
