The Alaska Energy-Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund (AEERLF), which is authorized by the 2010 Alaska Legislature, is designed provide equal or greater savings in energy costs than the loan payments made for the energy-efficiency improvements.
AHFC is collaborating with the Renewable Energy Alaska Project to contact municipalities and school districts interested in participating, for which eligible applicants will use the Retrofit Energy Assessment for Loan (REAL) to evaluate a potential project.
AHFC CEO and executive director Dan Fauske said that this is an excellent opportunity for the public building owners to reduce their energy expenditures and improve their buildings’ performance.
"The energy savings will repay the loan and provide tremendous long-term reductions in energy costs," Fauske said.
