Adani Power, the power business arm of Adani Group, has synchronized a 660MW supercritical power unit at Mundra in the Indian state of Gujarat.

This synchronization takes the coal-fired thermal power generation capacity of the company to 1980MW.

Adani Power is setting up a 4620MW coal-fired power project at Mundra, which includes five 660MW units and four 330MW units.

The 660MW units of the project, which is expected to be completed in March 2012, are based on supercritical technology.

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani said that the supercritical technology will make the company’s operation efficient and in turn preserve environment.
