ACCIONA Energy has signed an agreement with a company formed by Fisterra Energy to supply wind turbines for the projects to be built with a capacity of 252MW in Mexico.

Scope of the work also covers engineering, construction and commissioning of the two wind farms, Ventika and Ventika II, which will be located in the municipality of General Bravo in the state of Nuevo León.

In addition to supplying 84 3MW AW 116/3000 ACCIONA wind power turbines with rotor diameter of 116m mounted on 120m high concrete towers, the Spanish renewable energy firm will provide operation and maintenance services for the wind farms for 20 years.

Expected to enter commercial operation by the second quarter of 2016, the projects entail an investment of around $650m.
