The transformer will be deployed at PGCIL’s national test station currently under construction at Bina in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
PGCIL is planning a 1,200kV AC interconnecting grid, and as part of this initiative, the transmission utility is building a national 1,200kV test station at Bina.
The test station will carry out field tests and evaluation of various transmission and distribution equipment, including ABB’s transformer, before deploying the technology for commercial purposes.
