Centrica has completed the acquisition of California-based solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, Vista Solar.

Vista Solar will be merged into Centrica’s Distributed Energy and Power business, offering energy insight, asset optimization and energy solutions to large energy users under the Centrica Business Solutions brand.
Established in 2008, Vista Solar has delivered 40MW of solar projects to more than 160 customers across private and public sectors.
Centrica Business Solutions global managing director Jorge Pikunic said: “Solar is a key technology for businesses in California and represents an important opportunity for us to grow our footprint in one of the largest economies in the world.
“Combining Vista Solar’s impressive track record with our own in-house capabilities in energy insight, demand management, and onsite generation and storage puts us in a unique position to help more organisations in North America to take advantage of the changing energy landscape.”
In May, Centrica’s REstore business launched a 32MW virtual power plant, which comprises one of Europe’s largest battery storage facilities and a portfolio of industrial assets.
Acquired by Centrica in November 2017, REstore is a major European energy technology company specialising in demand side management solutions.
In February, the British multinational utility launched its distributed energy and power proposition in North America, named as Centrica Business Solutions.
Centrica Business Solutions was set up to help customers harness the power of distributed energy across three key strategy areas – energy insight; energy optimization; and energy solutions, including combined heat and power (CHP), solar, battery storage and standby generators.
