Residential and commercial energy consumers throughout northeastern Illinois and the state of New Jersey will be able to better manage their energy costs through Star Energy Partners’ fixed-rate, price-protected electricity supply options. The newly expanded Illinois service area includes ComEd customers while the New Jersey service area includes Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) and Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) customers. In the coming months, Star Energy Partners is expected to extend its service to customers across all of Illinois. The move is part of Star’s multiyear expansion plan in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states. Star began operating in Ohio in 2012 and Pennsylvania earlier this year.

"At Star Energy Partners, we’re making it easier for residents and businesses to exercise their right to choose and make confident decisions regarding their energy consumption," said Tony Banks, CEO of Star Energy Partners. "We want to encourage customers in the PSEG, JCP&L, and ComEd territories to take a look at Star Energy Partners when exercising their right to choose their energy supplier."

Star Energy Partners’ offers a wide range of energy choices for residential and commercial customers including a variety of contract lengths and traditional or green energy. Star’s fixed-rate program protects customers from changes in energy prices which can fluctuate not just from year-to-year, but from month-to-month.
