The system will be part of the second-phase expansion of the Terminal Island water reclamation plant advanced water treatment facility in San Pedro, Los Angeles County.
The facility purifies tertiary effluent to generate purified water for indirect potable reuse applications.
Evoqua said the purified water will be used as a potable water replacement in Los Angeles Harbor-area industrial applications apart from a barrier against seawater intrusion.
The company will supply its Memcor CP System utilizing next-generation hollow fiber membrane technology that allows operators more simplified cleaning procedures.
The second-phase expansion is estimated to add about eight million gallons/day of filtrate capacity as pretreatment to the reverse osmosis and advanced oxidation process.
