The waste wood power station is being built jointly by BWSC and Aalborg Energie Technik on the River Thames near to London.
One of Alstom’s specialist facilities will undertake the project specific design, engineering and manufacturing with support from the UK team.
The Tilbury facility, which is expected to be commissioned in July 2017, is estimated to generate 300 GWh of energy per year, enough for about 80,000 households.
The plant is expected to burn about 285,000 tonnes of waste wood every year.
Alstom VP of industrial steam turbines Daniel Wahler said: "This is our fifth contract with BWSC in the UK, all for different sized turbines, showing the advantages of our modular offering to ensure we can offer the customer a GRT turbine that suits the specific requirements."
Earlier this year, Alstom signed contracts with BWSC for 23MW and 50MW turbines for projects in Widnes and Snetterton.
