The 15-year agreement, which starts in July 2018, will see Suez provide wholesale softened drinking supplies for 605,000 inhabitants in 10 localities across SEPG’s territory.
Apart from the drinking water produced by its facility on the Mont Valérien, the SEPG water authority also purchases wholesale drinking water to meet the needs of its urban territory.
The contract includes commitment to meet all of the authority’s requirements for water in peak periods, or if the production facility on the Mont Valérien is temporarily not available.
The plant relies on resources taken from the Seine River. Suez needs to fulfill its contract even if the resources are degraded.
Suez Environnement Eau France managing director Philippe Maillard said: "We are delighted to consolidate our collaboration with the SEPG water authority, and we are proud to contribute to the setting of new standards in water supply services thanks to collective decarbonation."
Suez supplies drinking water to 92 million people a day and operates plants in Flins-Aubergenville and Le Pecq.
The company, which employs 80,990 people, also provides wastewater treatment services to 65 million a day.
