The new Toronto office will recruit approximately a dozen employees and will focus on development, permitting and construction management of solar power projects in Canada.
Recurrent Energy will use the office as a platform to provide on-the-ground support for the 149.5MW of solar projects it secured in April 2010 from Ontario Power Authority (OPA) under the OPA’s Feed-in Tariff Program, in addition to developing additional solar power assets.
Recurrent Energy plans to invest over C$650m in solar modules; electrical equipment; steel and metal fabrication; and related services such as installation and project management for the OPA Feed-in Tariff projects.
Recurrent Energy vice president of east region development David Brochu said that the opening of our Toronto office signals the next phase in Recurrent Energy’s long-term commitment to helping the province of Ontario meet its green energy and economy goals.
