JinkoSolar, which has already secured 546MW of solar module supply contracts for 2011, mainly from global solar companies, will make use of the enhanced production to complete these contracts.
The increase in production capacity is also expected to enhance JinkoSolar’s vertical integration, which in turn will enable the company to lower its average cost through economies of scale and improve product efficiencies through better control over the production process.
JinkoSolar chairman of board of directors Xiande Li said that the company has ramped up its capacities just ahead of schedule and in line with its year-end integrated capacity target of 600MW each for silicon wafers, solar cells and solar modules.
"Increasing our capacity, both in terms of volume and integration, positions us well as we look to capitalize on the demand for our high-quality solar modules and expand our 2011 contracts beyond the 546MW we have already secured," Li said.
