Jo Carroll Energy provides a $25 home energy assessment under the HomE Program and based on this evaluation, offers a series of rebates to residential cooperative members for making energy efficiency improvements to their homes.
The program provides $1,500 towards the purchase of energy saving geothermal heat pump, $1,000 for air-source heat pump, $350 for central air conditioning/Natural gas or LP furnace, $250 for heat pump water heater and 30% of project costs up to $500 for insulation.
The house must be served by the cooperative with electricity or natural gas and be the member’s primary residence in order to be eligible for the rebate, which will only be applied for one piece of heating or cooling equipment that meet federal Energy Star standards.
Jo-Carroll Energy is claimed to have completed 240 energy assessments and offered more than $91,000 in rebates to members who have completed upgrades to heating and cooling systems and insulation in their homes since the program began in June.
Jo-Carroll energy advisor John Scott said that by making its energy efficiency knowledge available to the members and providing rebates for improvements, the members can improve their home’s performance while saving energy and money.
