The charging stations are dual output stations, including 7.2kW output that delivers Level II (208/240V at 30A) charging via standard SAE J1772 connector and fixed 18ft cable and 2kW output, providing Level I (120V/16A) charging via a standard NEMA 5-20 receptacle.
The 240V AC Level II ChargePoint stations, which will be used by SAP fleet EVs and employees, can be controlled by SAP to eliminate energy theft and to enhance safety, and provide the ability to track and report the benefits associated with EV charging such as energy, greenhouse gas and fuel savings.
ChargePoint Network provides information on the charging status by SMS text or email notification, location of unoccupied charging stations via smart phones and includes smart grid integration with built in utility grade metering, time of use pricing and demand response control.
SAP Labs North America managing director Rami Branitzky said that the introduction of Coulomb’s ChargePoint stations and EVs at the SAP Labs Palo Alto campus is a demonstration of SAP’s innovative culture and commitment to a sustainable workplace.
