ASI will build three additional simulators that provide a user-friendly engine simulation for avionics integration testing.
The simulators support the operation of the electronic engine control (EEC) unit on multiple Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines by imitating the behavior of the engine and airframe systems to which the EEC is normally connected.
The simulator provides appropriate signals to allow bench testing of the EEC to verify normal starts, idle running, limited flight testing, and many other engine operational scenarios.
This brings the number of engine simulators built by ASI for Pratt & Whitney Canada to over 10, and represents the second purchase order for engine simulators by P&W in 2010.
