Corunna’s downtown LED retrofit project, which was funded by two grants totaling $100,000 from the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, is expected to reduce the city’s energy consumption by 50%.

EvoLucia PTR Retrofit Kit, a ‘plug-and-play’ LED retrofit product that has been installed by the city facilitates one-for-one direct replacement using existing poles and allowed the Department of Public Works to remove the existing globes and replace the HID lamps with the EvoLucia LED kits.

The fact that the existing poles could be used for the LED lighting retrofit project enabled the city to stretch its grant money further and retrofit twice the number of lights it originally thought it could to further drive energy efficiency.
