Here Enterprises plans to co-locate wind energy facilities with commercial businesses in order to generate cashflow from the production of renewable energy and from the businesses operating onsite, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Global wind power capacity is expected to reach nearly 200GW by year end, with nearly 16GW of new capacity added worldwide in the first half of 2010 and the total capacity of installed wind turbines reaching 175GW in mid-2010, according to the World Wind Energy Association.
The American Wind Energy Association reports that the US has added 395MW of wind power in the third quarter of 2010 and with 1,634MW installed through the end of September, the total installed utility-scale wind capacity through the third quarter was 36,698MW.
In addition, over 6,300MW is now under construction, allowing the nation to end 2010 with over 5,000MW completed.
Here Enterprises CEO Mark Ryun said that clean, renewable wind power can dramatically reduce CO2 emissions, stabilize power prices and increase energy security, and ramp up to meet increasing requirements.
