The first contract concerns an expansion of the drinking water supply system in Ben Tre province, so that clean drinking water is available for around 61,000 local residents by 2015, the company said.
The company will work on a new pumping station with a processing capacity of 5,000 to 10,000 cubic meters of water per day.
The second contract attempts to supply clean water to the rural population of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, a region near Ho Chi Minh City, by 2020.
The company said there is an urgent necessity to expand and upgrade the drinking water supply system as it presently has insufficient capacity and water quality is poor.
Financial support for the projects under the terms of the Orio facility for public infrastructure development in developing countries is given by the Dutch government.
The Orio facility for infrastructure development aims to encourage economic growth in developing countries, decrease poverty, and to stimulate the participation of international business in projects conducted in developing countries.
The projects will be ready for implementation once DHV carries out environmental impact estimations and socio-economic studies for both projects, the company said.
