The contract also includes an option for an additional 30MW of solar modules in 2011.
Hanwha SolarOne North America vice president and general manager Bruce Ludemann said that the North American market is key to Hanwha SolarOne’s long term success and SunEdison has helped it establish a respected presence in the US and Canadian markets.
"As a result of this project and others in our pipeline, we expect shipments to North America in 2011 to exceed 100MW, which would double our volume from 2010," Ludemann said.
Hanwha SolarOneit is a vertically integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers and PV cells and modules.
