The solar system, designed by Cupertino Electric, includes two smaller systems mounted on parking lot canopies at Casa Grande High School and Petaluma High School.
Petaluma City Schools business services deputy superintendent Steve Bolman said that the completion of new, two-campus solar system designed and built by Cupertino Electric will enable the schools to decrease their energy costs and increase student-related spending.
Construction of the PV system started in the fall of 2010 and resulted in a 675kW PV system at Casa Grande High School and a 385kW system at Petaluma High School.
TerraVerde Renewable Partners (TVRP) provided the installation and financing services to the solar PV projects.
TVRP is a developer of renewable energy facilities for local, state, and federal governments, school districts, and non-profit building and property owners.
