All acquired wind farms by Boralex are in the e Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardie regions of France, further strengthening the company’s presence in the region.
In addition to the acquisition, the company signed a five-year development agreement with Inno Vent SAS, wherein it has an option to purchase 130MW additional wind power projects, which are currently being developed in France.
Boralex president and CEO Patrick Lemaire said that with this acquisition the company exceeds 500MW in operation, with an installed capacity of nearly 200MW in France.
"Our European development team is currently finalizing the development projects we just acquired," added Lemaire.
Commercial operations at the development-stage wind projects is expected to commence in the second half of 2013, while the St. Patrick wind farm is under a long term contract to sell all of its energy to Électricité de France until at least 2024.
