In 2015, the Oregon’s renewable energy standards will require 15% of retail customers to be served by renewable sources and PGE is hopeful of raising a renewable resource vide the RFP that will generate enough power to serve about 83,000 of its average customers.
The company has released to its stakeholders and potential bidders a draft request for proposals (RFP) that seeks to raise power generating resources, the RFP is expected to open for bids later this year.
Draft of the RFP will allow interested bidders to analyze the company’s requirements before it moves forward for regulatory approval.
PGE Vice President for power operations and resource strategy Jim Lobdell said that the company’s customers are benefitting from the resource diversity provided by installing wind and solar projects over the past few years.
