The order for the long-range, all-electric, five-passenger e6s and charging pedestals opens the gates for BYD’s products in Thailand.
MEA executives said that they would work with BYD for the development of electric vehicle, energy storage, and solar power industries in Thailand.
BYD’s director of Asia Pacific auto sales Liu said, "BYD is focusing on the new energy industry. Our products include not only pure electric cars and electric buses, but also solar panels, inverters and energy storage stations. We look forward to a more multi-faceted cooperation with MEA in the near future."
BYD has introduced the e6 cars in Shenzhen, China, two and a half years ago and currently has over 300 electric taxis operating. It has also launched electric buses in the Chinese city 18 months ago.
