CFE will finance the entire construction costs of the hydro plant, located on the border of Jalisco and Nayarit states in western Mexico.
The La Yesca project is part of the Santiago Hydroelectric System and will feature among the major electricity generators in the country after the Aguamilpa-Solidaridad and El Cajon power plants, reported Latin American Herald Tribune.
The Santiago Hydroelectric System includes 27 projects with the potential to generate 4,300MW of power.
According to the CFE, the exchange certificates, also termed Cebures, carry a 30-year term.
Earlier in 2007, CFE sold its first Cebures to partly finance the El Cajon hydroelectric project in the country.
