The Theni I project consists of 11 turbines each of 1.5MW and the first three turbines were commissioned in February 2010. The final eight turbines and substation were completed in the last week of June.
The turbines will be fully commissioned when interconnection work at the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board substation is concluded, which is expected shortly.
Rupert Strachwitz, CEO of Indian Energy, said: “The Theni I project is on track to be fully commissioned well within the nine to 12 month time frame we set out when construction started at Theni I in December 2009.”
