As per the terms of the partnership agreement, NexGen Power will retrofit two buses, one full size 40ft diesel bus and one 22ft diesel bus, to an electric operating platform to perform a full operating day, through a six-month conversion process. Post conversion, the buses will be placed back in for a one-year demonstration test.
During the demonstration phase of the project, NexGen Power, which will provide the vehicle conversion to ATN, will have full access to the buses for data collection and analysis purposes.
At the completion of the one-year test, ATN will have the option to lease the converted buses from NexGen Power, sell the buses to NexGen or convert them back to their prior state at no cost.

“We currently operate ten electric buses within our ATN fleet and we embrace this demonstration project with NexGen Power as part of our ongoing commitment to the integration of state-of-the-art clean transportation alternatives to the traveling public.”
