ArcFM GIS and Responder are both key components of Telvent’s Smart Grid Solution and are designed to interface with electric utility enterprise operations and business technologies to help create a more efficient and reliable power delivery network.
OMS Project Manager Bruce Bradford reported the Telvent OMS will seamlessly integrate data from the utility’s established ArcFM enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS); device status information from its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system; customer data from its Customer Information System (CIS); customer calls from its Interactive Voice Response (IVR); and response vehicle location from its Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL). Responder will provide a single user interface for these information and communications systems.

MTEMC, which also deploys Telvent’s Designer GIS-based graphic design application and ArcFM Viewer, plans to go live with Responder in June 2009 and anticipates adding Telvent’s DMS (distribution management system) to integrate with Responder OMS in the near future.
