NorthWestern Energy will purchase the wind farm’s electricity from OwnEnergy, under the terms and conditions set forth by the Montana Public Service Commission (MPSC) in the QF-1, Option 3 electric tariff.

The parties negotiated a long-term rate substantially below the current qualifying facility rate of $69.21.

The MPSC set a rate for NorthWestern Energy to buy about 50MW of wind generation.

The wind farm is being developed in collaboration between OwnEnergy and Two Dot Wind.

Construction of the wind power project, located in Wheatland County, will commence next year.
