The Minox system has a capacity to provide 280,000bwpd of treated water for removing oxygen from injection water to very low levels, without the use of chemicals and is claimed to offer flexibility in relation to design and capacity.
While Grenland Group will fabricate the Minox water treatment unit in Korea, all design and engineering will be executed out of its office at Notodden, Norway.
Grenland Group, which has so far delivered more than 30 Minox systems to the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, West Africa and Far East, expects to supply the system by early 2012.
Grenland Group Solutions senior vice president Frank Ellingsen said that this is the first Minox water treatment system to be operated by Total and underlines a positive trend for Minox and Grenland Group.
