TXU Energy’s participation in the eVgo network will enable its customers to access the full benefits of eVgo’s charging stations that will provide charging services for a flat monthly fee, making EV charging affordable and predictable for a lower cost per mile compared to gasoline.

NRG’s eVgo program plans to deploy a network of home and public charging stations throughout the greater Houston area along major freeways, in key shopping and business districts, at popular retailers, and other parking areas.

TXU Energy CEO Jim Burke said that there is great customer interest in the benefits of electric vehicles, and TXU Energy’s goal is to help customers embrace these benefits.

"We believe the eVgo Network, combined with our own efforts, will provide customers who are looking at an electric vehicle peace of mind and eliminate range anxiety," Burke said.
