Under this contract, Outotec will be responsible for the design, construction and installation and commissioning of a water treatment plant and supply of related pump stations and equipment, transmission mains and distribution piping and associated infrastructure.
The project, officially known as the Integrated Water Supply Scheme for the Un-served Areas of Ampara District – Phase III, represents final segment of a scheme designed to provide treated pipe borne water to over 75% of the Ampara District.
Outotec, which delivered Phases I and II of this project in 1999 and 2002 respectively, expects to complete Phase III by November 2013.
Outotec CEO Pertti Korhonen said that Outotec’s experience in managing projects across the globe was key in helping source and secure the funding necessary for the final phase of this project.
