By reaching the capacity of the second 5,000 MT train in the 15,000 MT Mahong polysilicon plant LDK Solar has ramped its polysilicon production capacity to 10,000 MT.
This recent development is expected to help LDK Solar improve economies of scale by achieving the expected manufacturing costs and lowering the key material supply risk to meet the growing needs of the solar PV industry worldwide.
LDK Solar chief operation officer Xingxue Tong said that reaching capacity of the second train in the Mahong polysilicon plant is significant for LDK Solar as well as the PV industry as it will greatly expand LDK Solar’s access to polysilicon and support its growing demand from its customers.
