The new rebates, which are available to DTE Energy’s MichCon and Detroit Edison customers, range from $20 to $200 and are offered through the company’s energy efficiency program, Your Energy Savings.

The company is offering $200 to its MichCon customers who purchase qualifying furnaces rated 95% or better according to the Department of Energy’s Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency standards and $100 to the Detroit Edison customers who purchase furnaces with an ECM.

DTE Energy’s rebates, which also include $20 for MichCon and Detroit Edison customers who purchase programmable thermostats, will be provided to customers through participating HVAC contractors who will submit required documentation to DTE Energy.

In addition to DTE Energy’s rebates checks, which customers can expect to receive in approximately six to eight weeks, homeowners may be eligible for federal tax credits of up to 30% of the purchase price of qualified energy efficient products, up to a maximum household credit of $1,500.
