The proceeds of the grant, which was issued under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, went towards partial payments of construction financing arranged by Juhl for the community wind project.
The US stimulus funds have contributed to the financing for several of community wind farms that Juhl Wind has built or have under construction this year and into 2011 by providing about 30% of funding for each project.
Juhl Wind CEO Dan Juhl said that the company is proud to have recently completed construction and commissioning of the Grant County project.
"This 20MW project is representative of the other types of projects we are constructing through joint venture of our local farmer owners and institutional partners in the Minnesota region like our recently announced Adams and Danielson wind farms which total about $86m in work," Juhl said.
