The new 3.2-103 turbine, which is based on the company’s 2.5MW platform, generates more power than the company’s current model. It is available in hub heights between 70 and 98m.
GE Europe general manager Cliff Harris said that the company’s 3.2-103 is the next evolution in its European product platform.
"Engineered specifically for UK and Ireland permit constraints, the 103m rotor diameter and hub-height flexibility make it an excellent fit for tip-height constrained sites," Harris added.
"Additionally, this advanced technology drives higher wind farm output especially in windy and low shear areas typically present in Turkey, and the integrated energy storage makes it a valuable solution to help improve the grid integration challenges."
The brilliant series turbine utilizes the industrial internet to allow the turbines to communicate with each other. It also features integrated energy storage applications that can enable the turbine to provide wind power availability.
